Introduction

Hello, World!

I am in the process of writing a ghost story (about 130 pages complete so far). When I first started writing it, I didn't think of it as horror per se, but as I continue the work of fleshing it out, it has become apparent to me that the story would benefit from some of the suspense techniques commonly used in horror fiction.

The purpose of this blog is not to explore the basics of writing (that goes far beyond the scope of this). Rather, it is intended to catalog and explore some of the more common "tricks of the trade" of horror fiction.

If this blog gets any discussion going, so much the better. But obviously blogs start as exercises in talking to oneself, so I'll just start in that vein and see where it goes.
